Ursula Roy

Mrs. Ursula E. Roy, age 87, of Canton, NY passed away on December 27, 2011 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Arrangements are with the Garner Funeral Service. There will be a burial in the spring. Contributions in her memory can be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Ursula is survived by her sons Lloyd (Bonnie) Manchester of New Carlisle, OH and Paul (Linda) Manchester of Colton, NY; her daughters Phyllis Gilbert of Dekalb Junction, NY and Darlene Campbell of Myrtle Beach, SC; a sister Mary (Robert) House of Gouverneur, NY; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Ursula E. Roy was born January 15, 1924 in Burlington, Vermont to the late Simeon and Helen Fales Jobin. She was a graduate of Gouverneur Schools. After High School she was married to Carl Manchester. Together they operated a farm in Hermon for over 30 years. The marriage ended in divorce. Then in the early 70’s she was married to Francis “Frickie” Roy. They lived on Higley Flow in Colton, NY for many years. Frickie passed away on September 24, 1998. Ursula was predeceased by a daughter, Sally Manchester, age 4 months.

Ursula was a homemaker all of her life. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Colton. Online condolences can be sent @www.garnerfh.com.
