Mrs. Sophia M. Brown

Graveside service for Sophia m. Brown, age 56, of Norwood, will be held Friday July 8, 2016 at Bayside Cemetery, Potsdam. Mrs. Brown passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016 at Canton Potsdam Hospital after being stricken at home.

Sophia was born on May 9, 1960 to the late Kenneth and Helena (Gonyea) French in Potsdam. She attended Potsdam Central School. Sophia married Hubert Brown on August 20, 1995.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband Hubert; a daughter Brenda Villnave of Potsdam, stepson Jeffrey & Julie Brown of New Hampshire; stepdaughter Heidi Brown of Massachusetts; five grandchildren and a great grandson; four brothers Johnny French of Potsdam, Kevin French, Francis French and Weldon French all of Winthrop and a sister Victoria French of Potsdam; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother Bernard “Beanie” French.
