Marie was born December 22, 1946 in Massena, a daughter of the late Clarence and Pauline (Gardner) Therrien. Marie graduated from Massena High School and on June 15, 1968 was married to Robert Martin. Robert and Marie celebrated 55 years of marriage and together they built a beautiful family that was a focal point of their lives. One of Marie’s favorite past times was being surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren, extended family and friends. Marie worked at the Pine Street ARC, retiring after 25 years. She did bookkeeping and daily accounting for Martin’s Gas Station for over 30 years, in addition to that, she loved feeding the guys at the station and everyone looked forward to her food. She was a wonderful chef at the roadkill café. She also enjoyed weekly get-togethers with her friends.
Calling hours for Marie will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Garner Funeral Home, Potsdam. A funeral service will be held the following morning, Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery, Parishville.
Marie is survived by her husband Robert Martin, sons, Rob (Christy) Martin and Scott (Jennifer) Martin, a daughter Cindy (Brian) Fish, grandchildren Jake (Emmy) Martin, Mike (Nicole) Martin, Adam Martin, Jonathan Martin, Kendra and Makenzie Fish, nieces, nephews, cousins and too many friends to name.
