Margaret M. (Plotner) Bradshaw, age 87, passed away at Edwards Hospital in Naperville, IL on August 18, 2013 while she was visiting her sister. A mass of Christian Burial for Margaret will be held on Friday, August 23rd at 9:30am at St. Mary’s Church with Msgr. Robert Aucoin celebrant. Burial will follow the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Service on Thursday, August 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9. Marge was born March 20, 1926 in Dorchester, MA, the daughter of Albert and Margaret Plotner. She graduated from Manhattanville College with a BS in Nursing in 1948. She worked in various nursing positions throughout her life. She retired after a long stint working in the office of Dr Richard Howell.
Marge loved to travel both domestic and internationally. She was an avid reader and a constant figure at local sporting events both High School and College, especially if one of the grandkids was involved.
She is survived by her sons, Richard (Christine) Bradshaw and James (Kim) both of Potsdam; daughters, Patricia (Gary) Bennett, Meg (Fred) Mayer and Elizabeth Bradshaw (Robert Greene), all of Potsdam, Mary McNally of Guelph, ON and Eileen Bradshaw (Tim Murray) of Oneonta, NY; 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Louise Collins of Lisle, IL and a brother, Dick Plotner of New York and several nieces and nephews.
Marge was predeceased by her husband, R. Gerald Bradshaw; a son, John A. Bradshaw and a grandson, Michael J. Casey. She was also predeceased by her brothers Al and Bob and a sister, Kay.
