Mrs. Catherine Mary (Reasoner) Giordano

Mrs. Catherine Mary (Reasoner) Giordano, age 55, of Potsdam, NY, passed away on March 9, 2013 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, March 13th at 10 am at St. Mary’s Church in Potsdam, NY. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Service on Tuesday from 5-9pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Canton-Potsdam Hospital Foundation Critical Care Unit or to the Hannawa Falls Volunteer Fire Department.

Cathy was born in Potsdam on October 22, 1957. She graduated from Potsdam Central High School in 1975 and continued on to Travel School at Bryant and Stratton College. Cathy worked as a travel agent in Syracuse for BTI Travel and also enjoyed working at Chip’s Place. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and family members, especially her grandsons. She loved a good card game, golfing and was seldom seen sitting down if a band was playing. She was also the first to offer a helping hand in any situation and had an amazing work ethic.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Chip Giordano; daughters, Marlo (Steve) Rienhardt and Alexis Howe; son, Kristopher Crook; stepdaughters, Sommer Giordano and Mandy Giordano; grandsons, Jameson and Zachary; mother, Barbara Joan Reasoner; sisters, Cindy Russell and Bonnie (Angelo) Landi; brothers, Bill (Halle) Reasoner and Jim (Beth) Reasoner; nieces, Megan, Valerie, Amanda, Stephanie, Tonnie and Jordan; nephews, Matt, Michael, AJ and Jeffrey; honorary family members Joann and Nikki Mathews.

Cathy is preceded in death by her father, Alan Reasoner and her grandparents Ernest and Winifred Reasoner and Donald and Lillian Thompson.
