Mrs. Ann Howlett, 78, of Potsdam passed away on Saturday, February 11th at home. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Service on Thursday from 4-7pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 11am at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Potsdam, NY with Rev. Dr. Christopher Brown celebrant. Ann is survived by her husband, E. Stanley Howlett, III, of Potsdam, a son, William S. (Stacey) Howlett of Norwood, daughters, Barbara A. (James Gass) Howlett of Liverpool, and Nancy J. (James) Bonner of Potsdam. a grandson, Douglas J. Sharlow, Jr. of Albany, and a granddaughter, Erin E. Howlett of Potsdam. Brothers, Donald (Wendy) Caparis of Pacific Grove, CA, and Peter (Georgia) Caparis of Palos Verdes Estates, CA. Sister, Janet (Serge) Samour of Selden, NY.
She was predeceased by her brother James Caparis in 1985 and a grandson, William S. Howlett, Jr. in 2008.
Ann Howlett was born February 15, 1933 in Mt. Vernon, NY, to the late Bill and Janet Caparis.
She earned her bachelors degree from State University of New York at Albany, and her masters degree from State University of New York at Potsdam. She was married to E. Stanley Howlett, III on July 9, 1955 in Pelham, N.Y. Ann was a much beloved English teacher at Norwood-Norfolk High School for 27 years. She was President of Trinity Episcopal Church of Potsdam Alter Guild for over 20 years.
