William “Sam” K. Raub was born on April 1, 1957, in Couvron, Aisne, France, to Lawrence and Mary Raub. As a military family, the Raubs moved around a lot. Sam was raised with three siblings, two brothers and one sister.
In 1976, Sam enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served honorably, and was discharged in 1980.
Sam always had a passion for helping others, so, in recent years, he attended Clark Community College; attaining his Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees in social work.
Sam had many hobbies, but especially enjoyed fishing, camping, and riding his motorcycle. Some favorite fishing trips were to John Redmond Reservoir, in Kansas, with his brothers.
Sam passed away in his home on May 6, 2020. He was 63 years old.
Inurnment will be in Willamette National Cemetery, a place of honor for those who have served our country.
