Born in Spooner, Wisconsin to Edith Davies and John A. Williams, Tom was the third of four sons. Tom graduated from Oregon City High School. He was very proud of his service as a Naval Radar Instructor during WWII. In his over 30 year career at Tektronix, Tom was the Community Relations Manager and Director of the Tektronix Foundation. He represented Tektronix by visiting many schools, universities and organizations, facilitating Tektronix grants and scholarships. He served his community on the Boards of United Way, Junior Achievement, and Washington County Fire District.
Tom and his wife of 65 years, Doris (Schell), settled in Milwaukie and then Garden Home. In later years, they moved to Claremont, and finally to Laurel Parc where Doris died in 2011.
Tom leaves three children, Susan (Joe) Mihelich, Thomas (Jan) Williams, and Sharon Williams (John Deits), seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was an adored and supportive husband, father, “Pop”, and friend. He will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be at 3pm Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Skyline Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to The American Cancer Society, The Red Cross, United Way or a charity of choice.
