(Thelma) Joan Munsey, 88, of Portland Oregon, passed away on Tuesday, October 25th 2022.
She was born in Shelton Washington on December 2nd 1933 and attended a one room school house in the upper valley.
Joan graduated from Irene S. Reed High school and received a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics from Linfield College.
In 1961, Joan married Hugh Shivers. Eight months later she was widowed and 5 months pregnant.
She married Harold Munsey in 1965. They were married for 37 years, until she was widowed again in 2002
Joan worked as a book keeper for J.B. Nibley and associates for many years.
Joan is survived by her daughter Kimberly Shivers, her son Carl Munsey, her stepsons Bruce & Gary Munsey, her grandchildren Devon, Shane, & Connor Munsey; Kara & Aaron Munsey and Alyssa Thorpe; Daniel Munsey; as well as 3 great grandchildren; her Brother Fred, and sister Betty.
