Terry was born February 14, 1937 in Portland, Oregon. He was the oldest son of Therald and Hazel Clifford. Terry had one younger brother, Lance who also resides here in Portland. As a young man Terry attended Washington High School. He was elected as "Harry High School" which was a local honor at the school as well as being named to the All City baseball team his senior year.
Other than spending a short time living in Denver, Colorado he also lived here in Portland his whole life.
Terry met Elizabeth, the love of his life, after being set up on a blind date by a mutual friend of theirs. They were married September 6, 1958. After marriage, Terry continued to serve in the Air National Guard, work at Tektronix as well as attend night classes at PSU. He graduated from PSU School of Business and continued to work at Tektronix for 38 years as well as attend Harvard School of Business.
Terry was always a loving husband, father and grandfather. No matter how tired he might have been after a long day of work, he would always take time to help his two daughters with homework, play board games or go on a bike ride. He attended every sport event or recital any of his three granddaughters might have had, bringing his camera along to capture many memorial moments.
Terry spent many years singing in the choir at First United Methodist Church. He loved photography, woodworking, art, nature and was an avid tennis and golf player.
Later in life, both Terry and Liz enjoyed traveling, antiquing and spending time with friends and family as well as spending much of their time enjoying their beach house.
