She was born in Bremerton, Washington to Jerrold and Clarice Kieszling on September 9th, 1955. After graduating from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Suellen moved to Portland where she worked as a pediatric Occupational Therapist at OHSU until her retirement.
Suellen was a helper both in her work and her life. She listened, encouraged and tried to bring out the best in everyone around her. In addition to her gentle nature, Suellen was a fierce advocate for herself and others and possessed a quiet determination that kept her going through many of life’s challenges. Although her courageously fought 30-year battle against cancer has come to an end, she will remain an inspiration to all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Bradley; daughter, Meredith Sykes (Chris); son, Darren; granddaughters, Renee Sykes and Lydia Sykes; brother, Stan Kieszling (Judy); sister, Jerianne Kirkegaard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at a later date.
