Sue Ellen Kuzmanich passed away on April 3rd, 2023. Sue was born on July 7th, 1946 to Max and Letha Williamson in the town of Clarinda, IA. Sue was the youngest of the two daughters, and little sister to Virginia.
They lived on the farm until 1954, when Sue was about 7 or 8 years old. Sue did not like the farm life, especially the chickens--she said some of the chickens were mean when she would get the eggs. The family took several vacation trips to Pacific Northwest, and when the family discovered the beauty of Washington they what they left the farm to settle in White Salmon, on the north side of the Columbia River Gorge overlooking Mt. Hood to the south. There, Sue continued her education through Stevenson High School. Sue loved the Columbia Gorge, she always commented on how green and how beautiful the Mountains were in the Northwest. In the summer, Sue liked to go tubing and swimming with friends in the rivers near her home.
After a few summers, Sue began looking for her next adventure and decided she was ready for a move to the big city of Portland, Oregon. She established herself with employment in a local office; and in her apartment building is where she met her future husband John--whom she said she “thought was very peculiar". They were soon in love, and shortly after married. Their family grew as they had 3 children: John, Kevin, and Ryan. They lived for several years in Portland, OR until moving back to the Midwest.
Sue remained very physically active throughout her life and loved playing tennis and skiing in the winter. She enjoyed traveling, seeing the world, and learning about different cultures. She also loved socializing with friends and spending time with their grandchildren.
Eventually, Sue and the family moved back to Northwest but also kept a place in Las Vegas where she and John would escape the Northwest's cold and rainy winter months. Sue was adored as a kind-hearted lady who touched many hearts, and made long-lasting friends in every city. She always stayed in touch with her loved ones no matter where life took her. A loving wife to John, a caring mother to her children, and a down to earth, sweet, and classy lady. Sue will be tremendously missed and always remembered.
