Meyer, Stanley 95 Aug. 21, 1918 April 09, 2014 Stanley Meyer died peacefully April 9, 2014, at the age of 95. He was a member of America's "Greatest Generation" having served in the U.S. Army in France, Iceland and Northern Ireland during World War II, attaining the rank of technician fourth grade in the Signal Corps. While serving in Belfast, Northern Ireland, he met and married the former Patsy Stewart. She preceded him in death in 2007. Stanley retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a longterm member of Sts. Peter and Paul Episcopal Church. Stanley is survived by his son, Jon (Pat); daughter, Jane Boom (Gary); grandchildren, Michelle Dwan (Matt), Danielle Silk (Eric) and Alex and Brett Dudgeon; great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Samantha Dudgeon, Charlie and Finley Silk; brother, Allen; and many nieces and nephews. Donations in his memory may be made to Serenity Hospice Helping Hands Fund, 6975 S.W. Sandburg St., Portland, OR 97223. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Sts. Peter & Paul Episcopal Church in Portland.
