Sharon "Sherrie" Ann Sayers, 84, of Portland, Oregon, passed away on January 20, 2024, in Portland. She was born on November 27, 1939, in Portland, to her late parents Mary Louise Cogill and Bruce Wolfe.
Sherrie, as she was affectionately known, was raised in Tigard, Oregon and attended Tigard High School. She met the love of her life, Floyd Louis Sayers, in 1961 through mutual friends .They married in August of 1962. Although they eventually divorced, they remained friends for life. Sherrie spent the majority of her career managing restaurants but began a new chapter later in her life as the Director of Activities at Holiday Park Plaza, from where she eventually retired.
In her free time, Sherrie enjoyed various hobbies. She had a passion for painting, cooking, gardening, and finding treasures at thrift stores. Sherrie had a fun-loving and mischievous nature, always quick to laugh. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, always putting her family first. She was a positive, loving, and well-meaning person.
Sherrie is survived by her daughters Candy Cox (Jerry), Michelle Black, Susanne Sayers (Frank), and Shannon Sayers-Rana (Dipendra). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Brandi Saba, Ron Heath, Rene Janis, Karak Arnett (Heather), Simona Krecek (Vito), Aika Topolski (Kevin), and Adrian Gallegos-Smith (Vincent). Additionally she was blessed with great-grandchildren Celeste, Christian, Gabriel, Kaytee, Natalie, Shyanne, Jason, Olin, Julius, Emerson, Ainsley Lou, Amelia, Moira, Jamie, Bryan, Emily and several great-great-grandchildren.
Sherrie will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her memory will forever be cherished.
