We are sad to announce the passing of Sharon Joy Smyth Rondeau age 78 on April 2, 2023 of Portland Oregon. Born in Junction City Oregon to Ernest and Ellamae Smyth on August 22, 1944. The second oldest of six children.
Her husband Alden Rondeau preceded her in death in 2011
Graduating from Lane Community College in 1963 as a Licensed Practical Nurse, Sharon moved to Portland in 1964 working in nursing for her entire career. Furthering her education with an Assoc. Degree in Mental Health from Mt. Hood Community College in 1988, followed by a B.S. in Human Services from the University of Oregon in 1991.
Sharon invested countless hours volunteering her time and experience with her church, diabetic groups, as well as serving on the planning committee for the drug and alcohol awareness program at Centennial High School.
Loving her cats with a passion for sewing, bicycling, gardening and cooking. She will be greatly missed by her beloved family, friends and so many who were blessed by her kindness.
Survived by her son Christopher Schloe and wife Lisa, grandsons Garrett and Grant Schloe, sisters Charlotte Ritthaler, Margie Hammack, Sandy Terrien (Jeff), Lori Skarda (Steve), and brother Donald Smyth (Terri), along with many loved nieces and nephews. Three stepsons Allen, Mark, Jim Rondeau and grandkids.
An outdoor graveside services will be held at Lincoln Memorial on May 5, 2023 at 3:00 pm
