Born November, 5, 1939 to Clyde and Marguerite Rentfrow in Portland, Oregon. She grew up an only child and attended school in the David Douglas District. She enjoyed a period of modeling and then just out of High School she started a family and went on to have four children. Daughters; Debbie Best (Rob), Sheryl Claypool (Earl), Salisa Moore (Lucky) and Son; James Hurlock (Fida) as well as three acquired Daughters Laurie Johnson (Jon), Debbie Burril (Jackie) and Terri Bliss. After two previous marriages, she married Jack Cook in 1993 with whom she spent the better part of 25 years being inseparable with.
Sharon enjoyed fast cars, traveling with her husband, animals (Patches) and loved spending time with her family. Her passion for cleaning was surpassed only by her love for her children and grandchildren; Andrea and Matthew Hollenbeck, Bradley and Daniel Claypool, Khalil and Samyra Hurlock, Marshall and Dylan Johnson, and Kaitlin, Madison, and Jake Bliss.
Later in her years she battled breast cancer and endured hip and back surgery, and survived a stroke in April of 2010.
On August 24th Sharon suffered a second stroke. In the late hours of August 27th surrounded by family with a beautiful view from OHSU, Sharon passed away very peacefully. For those whose lives she touched you know the loss. So just remember her smile and wonderful laugh and you will find comfort. Such a big heart, it had enough love for everyone. She’ll be sadly missed.
Her service will be Wednesday, September 1st 2pm with a private, family only committal to follow at 3:00pm at the Lincoln Memorial Cemetery 11801 SE Mt. Scott Blvd, Portland, Oregon 97266.
