Ruth Sue-Yearn Wu

Born on January 12, 1972, in Taipei, Taiwan, Ruth called Portland, Oregon, her home for most of her life. Ruth, was valedictorian of her high school, and a graduate of the University of Oregon in the school of architecture, ultimately opening up her own firm.

Beyond her professional life, she was a loving wife to Roy Jan and a devoted mother to eight-year-old Naomi. Ruth found joy opening up her own sushi restaurant, Mizu, with her mother, hiking Oregon's countless trails, foraging mushrooms, collecting agates on the Oregon coast, and cooking diverse meals. Kauai held a special place in her heart, topping the list of places she visited in her world travels. Most of all, she was a devoted Christian and loved God.

Ruth was preceded in death by her father, Philip, and is survived by her mother, Shou Yen Wu, sister Kathy Wu, husband Roy Jan, and daughter Naomi. May her legacy endure through the love she shared and the memories she leaves behind. We love you and will miss you dearly, Ruth.
