Our loving Mother and Grandmother went to a happier place on June 1, 2011, and while we will miss her dearly, we are rejoicing that she is no longer suffering, but is in GOD’S hands and beside her loving husband who went to heaven in 1996. They were married the day World War II was declared (12/08/41), and were an example to everyone of true love.
Mom was born in Tacoma, WA on 11/07/25 to Joseph Paul Marlatt and Maude Lois Van Sickle (maiden name), and was raised primarily in the greater Portland area with her 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Her brothers, Donald Marlatt, Sr. and Ted Marlatt passed away earlier this year. Surviving are her sisters Dorothy Carr and June Johnson.
Her children are Patricia Burleson of Happy Valley, Ronald Totten of Eugene, Daniel Totten of Milwaukie, Lois Maxwell of McLean, IL, Douglas Totten of Albany, and Jeffrey Totten of Milwaukie. She was also surrounded by 23 grandchildren 35 great grandchildren and 7 great, great grandchildren that she dearly loved, to the point of insuring that each one received a card on their birthday and a gift at Christmas.
Her working years began by laboring in a laundry, then working at ESI, then she retired at 65 after many years at Precision Castparts.
Mom came to know Christ And was born again in 1950 and has attended Wichita Church for all these years. She was very proud of having taught Sunday School, primarily the toddlers, for 35 years
Please join us Saturday, June 11 to remember Mom and share in rejoicing that she is now in a happier place. This will be at her Wichita Church at 1:00 P.M.
