Ruth Emily Aikman Johnson was born on Feb. 17, 1926 in Boise, Idaho to Robert Fairbairn Aikman and Dorothy May Bevington Aikman. She was the older sister to Mary, Dorothy, Margaret, Phyllis and Joan. She attended elementary through high school in Caldwell, Idaho, after which she went to the College of Idaho from 1945-1946. On November 27, 1947, she married Wesley F. Johnson. In 1956, the couple moved to Portland. They were married for 65 years.
In her later years, Ruth resided at Cherry Park Plaza and later Good Samaritan Village. She will be remembered as someone who loved her family immensely. She enjoyed gardening, books, and traveling around the country.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Wesley F. Johnson and daughter-in-law Mary Lou Johnson.
Ruth is survived by her children: Ann Marie (Rob) Wehrley, Kristine Kay (Ed) Settje, and Ronald Mark Johnson; grandchildren: Allison Ann Wehrley, Katherine Jean Cohn, Maureen Lynn Wehrley, Michael Robert Wehrley and Alex Mark Johnson; and great-grandchildren: Olivia Cohn, Henry Cohn, and Jimena Wehrley-Cruz.
A private service will be held at Lincoln Memorial Park.
Ruth will be remembered for being a daughter, sister, mother, friend, and wife and best friend to Wesley F. Johnson.
