Ruth Donalea Jones Allen

August 24, 1924 – July 25, 2012

Ruth Donalea Jones Allen passed from this life to the next July 25th, 2012 at the age of almost 88 years of age in Portland Oregon from age related causes.

She was born August 24th, 1924 to Leon Merrill Jones and Fern Ferguson Jones. She had one brother, Stanley Merrill Jones.

Ruth married Reas Harold Allen on Nov 29, 1941. Ruth and Reas celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary last fall before Reas’s passing.

Ruth was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attended the Mt. Scott Ward. Her passion was genealogy and family history. She enjoyed crocheting, painting, and gardening.

Ruth and Reas were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple Sept 21, 1957.

They lived in many places the first years of their married life. They settled 54 ½ years ago in their house on SE Boise St. in Portland Or where they raised their 7 children. Three years ago, Ruth and Reas moved to the Cascade Terrace Care Facility in SE Portland.

Ruth is survived by her children: Linda Card (and Hal) of Utah, Sandra Armstrong (and Eric) of Utah, Cathy Dover (and Mikel) OR, Lorna DeRoest (and Tony), of OR, Lonnie Allen (and Sandy) of WA., and Ron Allen (and Pam) of OR.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Reas, their oldest daughter Sharon Williams of Plain city Utah, and their oldest grandson, Scott Card of Monrovia CA.

Ruth was the proud grandmother of 28, and great grandmother of 37 with 3 more on the way as of this writing.

Lincoln Memorial will be Ruth’s final resting place beside her husband.

A Memorial Service will be held in Ruth's honor on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 6:00pm at The Cascade Terrace Courtyard, 5601 SE 122nd Avenue, Portland.
