Rose was born on May 24, 1919 in Portland Oregon. She was born to Jacob and Anna Shleifer. She had three brothers and one sister. She graduated from Lincoln High School.
When she was 12 she was given a tennis racket. This started Rose on a winning career in tennis. She won tournaments in Portland, Seattle, Spokane and British Columbia. She won as a single, doubles and mixed doubles.
She gave up tennis when she met Norman. He was the love of her life. They were married for 29 years until his death.
Rose worked in her brother's furniture store, Shleifer Furniture.
She then worked for Sarah Coventry Jewelry. She was a top sales director. She worked for them for 25 years.
She quit when Norman died. She needed something to do so she went back to her sewing machine. She started making useable items for the home. She sold them at craft shows around the city of Portland. Rose made many great friends at her shows. Rose did her craft shows until she was 100 years old.
Rose died on Sunday, July 21, 2024 after a short illness.
Rose is survived by her daughter Vicki; her son William; her grandchildren Thomas, David, Aaron and Christine; and her great-grandchildren Carter and Camden.
A service will be held on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Skyline Memorial at 2 p.m.
