Rosalie Davis

Before marrying Orville, Rosalie worked for the Pettygrove family as a “hired girl” (known today as a nanny) in Hansen, Idaho taking care of their six children. When Mr. Pettygrove was appointed Commissioner of Agriculture for the state, the family and Rosalie moved to Boise.

Orville and Rosalie met at a get-together in 1936. He was farming near Jerome, Idaho. They became engaged on his birthday, August 7, 1938. They were married on December 14, 1939 in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Rosalie and Orville had three children: Joyce, Steve and Teala. They lived in Jerome, Dietrich and Twin Falls, Idaho before moving to Portland, Oregon in 1968.

Rosalie was a wonderful homemaker and Mom. She gardened, canned, sewed and had lots of company around her dinner table to enjoy her good cooking, homemade bread and chicken and noodles! Rosalie treasured time with her family. As she grew older, she greatly appreciated being remembered and visited by her family and friends.

Rosalie was preceeded in death by her husband, Orville; daughter, Joyce and granddaughter, Holly. She is survived by son, Steven Davis and daughter, Teala Sparks and husband, Craig of Centennial, CO; and four grandsons.

The family would like to thank all those who sent letters, made phone calls to Rosalie and visited her these last few years. It meant a lot to Rosalie and her family.
