Date of Death: January 24, 2018
Ronald Dale Bibbee, "Ron", was born to Ralph and Marian Bibbee on May 19, 1940, in Glendale, CA. Soon after his family moved to Newberg, OR where Ron enjoyed exploring the hills of the Willamette Valley - hunting and fishing. He attended Newberg High School and continued his education at Linfield College on a basketball scholarship.
Soon, the draw to enter the world of retail and food marketing took an important place in Ron's life and he followed his mentor Fred G. Meyer to open grocery stores around Oregon, with Ron focusing on elevating the produce department. This was the beginning of Ron's desire to serve the public and he went on to be a business partner in The Cave in Vancouver, WA and then The Aloha Station in Aloha, OR before moving to Washington state.
One of Ron's favorite hobbies was golf. He liked spending time with friends at the Riverbend Golf Complex in Kent, WA. In 1996 he earned a "2 Man Match Play Champion" trophy with his friend Rockie Burgess followed by a "Club Net Champion" trophy in 1999. As much as he enjoyed his time on the links he was a cowboy at heart and would indulge his "cowboy spirit" by reading novels by Louis L'Amour and Clive Cussler. He even followed a tour of Willie Nelson... and the boys one summer.
Ron is survived by his brother Dave Bibbee of Newberg, OR, and sister Patty Hill of Lolo, MT. Daughters Katherine Mary Carlson and Ann Marie Harrison. Grandchildren; Nicole Currier, Kyle Currier, Katie Harrison, Lily Harrison, Kyle Colwell, Gracie Fisher and Great-granddaughter Daisy Currier.
