

Robert (Bob) Lynn Jurgenson died peacefully at home March 25, 2011, at the age of 76. Bob was born August 14, 1934, in Deering, North Dakota. He was an only child and lived on a farm with his parents. At the age of nine, Bob’s family moved to Oregon and lived in the Lents area. His father, Ruben Jurgenson, was a plumber and his mother Roberta was a homemaker. As a young adult, Bob had many jobs. In his first long-term job at Foster and Kleiser, he was as an outdoor sign builder and hung sign boards. At one point Bob decided he was interested in owing his own business and bought a dump truck; however, the economy took a turn for the worse and he was forced to sell the truck. Bob then went to work at Cascade General in the ship yard as a tool room manager on Swan Island. He worked there until his retirement. Bob was married to Ida Mitchell; they had one daughter – Victoria Jurgenson. They later divorced and he married Donna Huwaldt; they had one son – Robert “Brian” Jurgenson. Bob and Donna were married for 50 years and lived in SE Portland. Bob loved to camp on the Deschutes River with his family and did so for many years. He also loved his animals, old cars, races, rodeo’s and spending time with his grandchildren. Bob will be missed by his wife, Donna; children, Vickie and Brian; stepchildren Linda Abdoo, Cheryl Huwaldt, Michael Huwaldt, Yvonne Swanson, their partners, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
