Rita Lyles Lucas, the former wife of the late NBA player Maurice Lucas, passed away on January 25, 2016. Her accomplishments include working for the Oregon State Bar, NORTHWEST STRATEGIES, Inc., the State of Oregon, and the City of Portland. Her Bachelor Degree in English is from Wheaton College, Norton, Massachusetts; Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University's John F Kennedy School of Government, and J.D. from Lewis and Clark Northwestern School of Law, Portland, Oregon. Her memberships and civic associations, to name a few, include the Oregon State Bar, Board of Directors for the Urban League of Portland, Metropolitan Family Service, Planned Parenthood, Campfire Boys and Girls Club, and Center for Community Mental Health. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 1, 2016, from 12:00-1:00 pm with funeral services to commence at 1:00 pm, followed by burial and a reception at Finley Sunset Hills, 6801 SW Sunset Hwy in Portland, Oregon.
Rita is survived by her three children, Maurice Lucas II, David Lucas, and Kristin Lucas Tiefenthaler, as well as seven grandchildren.
