Renea Marie Funderburk, a devoted mother, cherished wife, and beloved friend, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family in Tillamook, Oregon. Born on March 18, 1950, in Elyria, Ohio, to William Palmer and Jean Marie Palmer (Derby), Renea’s life was a testament to unwavering dedication to her family and her remarkable ability to balance a fulfilling career with a nurturing, close-knit home.
Family was the heart of Renea’s world. Her greatest joy was creating a warm and welcoming environment for her children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate to know her. She embodied selflessness, resilience, and unconditional love—qualities that will continue to inspire her loved ones.
Renea is survived by her siblings: half-brother William Carter; sisters Kristie Van Ness and Terry Hartmann; and half-sister Paula Burrell. She is also survived by her step-siblings, Paul Bauer and Melony Donnelly. Renea’s children include her daughters, Kimbaly Carr (McFalls) and Crystal Funderburk; her son, Fabian Carr; and her stepchildren, Darlene Williamson, Tamara Funderburk (deceased), Robert Funderburk, and Troy Funderburk. She leaves behind over a dozen grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion.
Renea worked as a flagger for Northwest Earth Movers for over 20 years, retiring with pride in her accomplishments. In her retirement, she cherished trips with her youngest daughter, Crystal, to visit family. She loved playing bingo and spending time with her eldest daughter, Kimbaly. Returning to her hometown of Sutherlin and Roseburg, Oregon, to visit her eldest son, Fabian, and his family brought her immense joy.
Renea will be remembered for her boundless love, infectious smile, and the remarkable ability to brighten any room she entered. She was a source of endless support and a guiding light for her family and friends.
Renea will be laid to rest at Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland, Oregon. Her love and legacy will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Renea Marie Funderburk will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
