Peggy was born in Lewiston, ID to Herbert and Louise DeHaven Brown. She graduated from the University of Portland with a nursing degree. Peggy married and divorced Franklin T. Pettibone Jr.; and later Robert C. Benedict.
Peggy was a surgical nurse at St. Vincent Hospital and later at the Veteran's Administration Hospital. She helped many, and was proud of her work.
She was a gifted seamstress, quilter and knitter. She loved reading, golf and playing cards with friends. she was particularly proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Peggy is survived by her brother David; children Tim, Sue, Marc and Mary Jo; step children Linda and Bob; 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
