I just heard of Paul's passing . I am a member of Sunset's Math Department and we all have so much affection and respect for Paul and the support he has given us over many years as a daily and long-term sub. A day with Paul in the building was sunnier because of his warmth and sense of humor.  When we needed a sub, we were so relieved to have someone filling in that was so knowledgable in the mathematics and equally good with the students. He will be greatly missed. 
We send our thoughts and prayers to his family. 

I remember good conversations at Redeemer, Enterbeing, and occasionally at Saturday Market. I have one of Paul's photos--a shot of the triangle building at West Burnside and Stark--on my living room wall. That will remind me of him as time goes by. My condolences to Diane, and to all who loved him.
