Patricia Louise Bishop

Pat was born in Port Angeles WA. The family moved from Spokane to Portland when she was 7 to the Vanport area and was displaced by the Vanport flood of 1948. She grew up in the Montavilla district and was a founding member of Montavilla Church. After grade school she attended Washington High and then on to Portland State where she completed the Bachelor of Elementary Education. She went on to teach in the Parkrose School district from 1962 to 1979.

She met her then to be husband Jack and their 20 year courtship lasted until their marriage in 1979 when they became missionaries to Ivory Coast West Africa for WorldVenture until 1988. After returning from the mission field Pat was involved in Christian Education and Community Music program volunteer service in the Portland area. Her hobbies were sewing, gardening, concerts, family and friends plus reading. The couple retired and made their home at Holiday Park Plaza in the Lloyd district where Pat was involved in starting the Wise Buys thrift store in the retirement center. She passed peacefully in the skilled nursing unit at Holiday Park Plaza.

A memorial service for Patricia will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Montavilla Church, 9204 SE Hawthorne Blvd., Portland, Oregon 97216.
