Norman Wong passed away peacefully on March 12, 2014 with his loving wife Ann by his side. He was born on October 9, 1925 in the village of Taishan in the Guangdong Province of China
.
Norman immigrated to the United States in 1950 followed by his wife and eldest daughter in 1953.
Norman was a longtime restaurateur, owning and operating the Hung Far Low restaurant with his wife Ann at the original Old Town location. He was an active leader in the local Chinese community and took great pride in his role as President of the local chapter of the Wong’s Family Benevolent Association.
He loved watching all types of professional sports, was an avid reader and enjoyed playing mahjong with friends.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ann; children Kathy, Norma Martinson (Barry), Doris Lane, Winnie Nyman (Wayne); and grandchildren, Norman, Jennifer, James and Hannah.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 24, 2014 at Lincoln Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 11801 SE Mt. Scott Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
