She was born to George and Ruby Mansfield in Crescent City, California on February 22, 1916.
Her parents were in the logging industry so she grew up an only child in the logging camps of Northern California and Southern Oregon.
Norma loved the gypsy life style of her childhood and credits that to her love of travel and seeking answers to anything relating to personal or real life situations. Her favorite book was the dictionary and she never stopped checking how to spell or find the meaning of that word.
She married John William Weber in 1936 in Klamath Falls, Oregon and had three children: John, Ronel and Lee Anne who all grew up in Klamath Falls, Oregon. She and John moved to Eugene, OR in 1961 where after a few years they both retired, John from Shell Oil Company, and Norma from retail as a fashion coordinator for Kaufman Brothers. Norma loved fashion, color, design, gardening, travel and her family. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Eugene and Valley Community Presbyterian Church in Portland.
She is survived by her son, John Weber and his wife, Carol Ann of Olympia, Washington; her daughter, Lee Anne Carter and her husband George of Las Vegas, Nevada; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Weber and son, Ronel G. Weber (Beverly) of Idaho Falls, ID.
