Nabil was born in Blida, Algeria on July 5, 1981 to loving and devoted parents, Boudjemaa and Yamina. He spent his childhood in Algeria and although some times were tough, the love his family shared for each other crafted Nabil into one of the most amazing, giving, and loving people that someone could be fortunate enough to meet.
Nabil was passionate about languages and spoke at least 5 fluently, it was hard to get an accurate number because he was very humble. He spent time teaching English as a second language, worked at the US Embassy in Algeria, and most recently was employed as a multilingual corporate trainer for Diligent Corporation. Nabil was as passionate about teaching languages as he was about learning them himself and many of his students stayed in contact with him after their classes were over as he made such an impact.
That phrase sums Nabil up more than anything else that could be said. He made an impact, a positive one, wherever he went. He loved everyone instantly, was everyone’s friend instantly, and would do anything for anyone.
With Nabil’s passion for languages came a love for travel. He made friends in every part of the world and did his best to see as much of it as possible while he was here. He spent time in France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Finland, England, United Arab Emirates, Canada, and various places in the United States including Virginia and New York. He and had a list of other places that he planned on seeing. The most recent one being a trip with his daughter to Japan.
In September of 2015, Nabil met a girl and, just like always, made an impact. Their love set him on a path to build a life in Portland, Oregon, where they were married on July 12, 2016. With that, he became a loving and proud Papa to her 2-year-old daughter. He loved them both more than they ever were loved before, and his loss is unfillable. In his too short time with them, he changed their lives forever and they love him so much too.
Nabil loved his family more than anything. His pride in his siblings, their lives and accomplishments is immeasurable. His love for his parents could be visibly seen when he spoke about them. Nabil is survived by his parents, Boudjemaa and Yamina, his brother Foaud and his wife Samia, his brother Abdelhak and his wife Soumia, his sister Soaud and her husband Mohamed, his sister Ahlem, his nieces and nephews Lina, Nada, Walid, Sophia, Mariah, Islem, Alaa, his wife Amber and their daughter Lilah. Nabil is predeceased by his very loved niece, Sarah. Standing in comfort and in loss next to his family are so many friends, too many to say, that love him like he was their brother.
Nabil was steadfast in his Muslim Faith and attended Jumu’ah prayer at MET in Tigard, Oregon. He lived the truth of his beliefs in such a way that the goodness radiated from him. May Allah have mercy on his soul.
