Minnie “Bo” Jenkins passed away at the age of 105 on April 14, 2014 in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born on February 10, 1909 in Louise, Mississippi to Hamp and Minnie Reid. She moved to Portland in 1945 at 36 years of age. She briefly worked at the Kaiser Shipyards, where she got caught up in the Vanport Flood of 1948. Everyone who met Minnie loved her dearly. She had a huge heart and extended her home and her heart to many. Not only did she have a huge family but an even larger extended family made up of the many people she was a dear friend to. She enjoyed puppies, listening to the radio, moon pies and Sprite. Minnie is preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Carter; her father Hamp Reid; husband Bruce Jenkins; sons, August (Camillia) Jenkins Sr., Charles “Mack” (Flora) Jenkins, and Detroid (Erma) Jenkins; grandchildren, Roy M. Jenkins, Deano Jenkins Sr., Suzanne Jenkins and Bruce Jenkins; great-grandson David C. Jenkins, great-great granddaughter, Ke'Oshanique Davis-Jenkins and 12 brothers and sisters. Minnie leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren, Quinice Jenkins, Marie Brown, Florence Patterson, Lee Jenkins, Mabel Jenkins, Desiree Williams, David L. Jenkins Sr., Sabrina Jenkins, Barbara Jenkins, Alfreda Jenkins, August Jenkins Jr. and Michael Jenkins; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, two God-daughters, Joni Mayo and Connie Gray, a host of nieces and nephews and hear dear puppy, Babi Blu Jenkins.
