Happy Birthday to you Mom, you would have been 91 today!! Sierra sent a special "I love you" and it made me feel so loved that my kiddos think of you even though you've been gone over three years now. 

Life has been challenging these past few years without you in them. I've been more than fortunate to be able to share you with the people that I meet daily, and they always have such wonderful things to say about your legacy when I tell them of what a truly unique and special Mom you were. 

There are occurrences when our times together come up as memories on Facebook or Instagram, we are indeed fortunate in that we can relive such precious moments over and over again. The sight of you, or you and Leona or you and the girls in a spontaneous moment of pure joy and laughter always makes my heart swell with the overwhelming love it brings me. 

Know that you are always in my heart, and I will always love you...to the moon and back.

I'll never forget your classic line when one of us said (as we were heading out the door), "I love you, Mom!!" and your line was always, "I love you more!" Pure perfection!

HI Mom, just wanted to pop on here to tell you I miss you, dad and Stuart. You see what's happening down here. I just ask that you and everyone else keeps a close guardian angel eye on all of us. Miss Millie is such a joy to have here. She is funny, adorable, loving and very playful.
Einstein is still around, he's about 17 and still loves to run around and play, although he does sleep a lot too. LOL

Oh, Mom...already 1 year and just a few hours ago you left us. The last year has been trying, but you, in your infinite wisdom and love for your offspring, has made it less so, in so many ways. I still wish you had taken some time for yourself and traveled, taken a cruise, seen some more of our beautiful world. 
As you were wont to do, you instead left us a legacy than none of us will ever be able to live up to. I can only hope I can be even one tenth the mother that you were to all of us. 
I miss you so, our conversations, the laughter, the lunches, the shopping, the family get togethers, the wonderful times you were able to spend with all the girls and me. So many memories to cherish. 
One year...so short, yet so long. I love you and miss you forever. 
 

Mom it is now 1 year since you left this earth and joined everyone that passed before you in heaven.  I think of you everyday and still pick up the phone to call you to see if you need anything from the store.  Hard to get out of a set schedule after doing it for so long.  So I have a new kitty, named her Miss Millie, in honor of you.  Stephanie and I got matching tattoos, my red rose is in honor of you.  Thank you for all you did for us and what you taught me.  I love you and miss you so much.  Still feel very honored to be the one to take care of you in your final years.  Hugs to dad, grammie and Stuart.  Until next time. 

This is the first Christmas without you, Mom and it's bittersweet to say the least. No big family get togethers, no noisy chatter of lots of kiddos and adults, no Christmas music playing in the background to add to the celebrations. 

I've talked to a few people in my drives and somehow the conversation has a way of coming around to losing you just a short year ago. How I wish my last few years with you had been more. More time, more laughter, more lunches and dinners, more lazy afternoon visits, more time spent with Sierra and Skyler...they would have loved that so much.

I miss you with an ache and a pain that I can hardly conceive...somehow it seems even more intense now than when you   'slipped these surly bonds of earth.' I know you are at peace, I know you're flying high with Dad, Grammie, Stuart, Rudy and too many more to count. 

I just wish we'd had more time. You left before you should have. You were, and always will be, an exceptional Mother. Love you forever, Sherrie

Mom, I came across a photo of you just one short year ago, when you were staying at Melanie's for a few days. I remember you were active, chatting and laughing, playing word puzzles with Melanie. I got to help take care of you for the 3 days you were there and it is a memory I will always treasure. So full of life. We danced, we sat at the kitchen table and I helped you with your meals as we all chatted with the other residents of the home. The fact that it was such a short time ago and now it's been just 7 months since you've been gone seems just so incredible. I will miss you and love you forever. Sherrie

Hi mom, you are greeting Rudy and giving him hugs and cheek kisses by now. So sad here that another great man has left this world, but knowing he is with God and all of you warms my heart. He will be missed here by everyone. Things are going very well, I'm going to make you laugh now, I have frogs ! yes, in my beautiful garden and yard I have several frogs, listening to them brings me peace. When I hear them I think of your smile and your calmness as we listened in the past. God is GREAT and GREAT is our God ! I'm still grieving and probably will for a while,  as you know I had a LOT of loss in 10 short months, but I think of you every night as your bed squeaks to remind me where I'm sleeping. I love you so much mom and wish I could hug you one more time.

Good Morning Mom!!  Just a quick note to let you know I'm thinking about you and miss you terribly. I can't even begin to fathom what Heaven must be like!!  Well, maybe that's not entirely true ... the Bible does describe it so wonderfully.  I still get emotional when I think about you not being here but I'm reminded that we're all here but for a season before God calls us home, that sure eases the pain.

That's about it ... I just wanted to say hi and I love you!!  Tell everybody hi for me :)

Cin, I absolutely loved your heartwarming tribute to Mom. Speaks volumes to the true spirit of our Mother. No need for obsequiousness or pandering, just pure love.

Mom, I miss you so much. To you and all that you mean and meant to me my entire life. I owe you more than I can say.  I've indeed been blessed with the vast wealth of your day to day knowledge and wisdom, and I'm hoping that I've been the recipient of at least a few of your better parts. 

That last day that Sally & I came over with your favorite yellow carnations...I know you couldn't see them, but I'm sure you could smell their blossoming sweetness. Truly bittersweet that within just a few short hours you would be gone. 

Sally and I also went up to your grave site on Mother's Day and we placed more of those fragrant beauties on your, Dad's and Stuart's grave stones. Yours hasn't been finalized yet, but I'm sure it will be soon. 

I know you and Dad loved us all, even with our mistakes, but I have to say that you would be so-o-o proud of how Sally has finally turned her life around. She did it and she did it on her own.

I'll be back soon to visit you, you always were a rock and I'm trying my best to keep that vision in front of me each and every day.

Hi mom, this saddens me, I thought I would come on here and read some wonderful memories of your life. Cindy and I are the only ones since you left us. I'm so sorry that the rest of your children are so wrapped up in their own world that they don't have time to leave a memory. Cindy sent everyone the link, so no one really has any excuse.
I miss you !
I am settling in pretty well, I'm only about 8 minutes from Stephanie. This makes me happy, she wasn't feeling well the last few days so I was able to run some goodies over to them and check on her. So glad I'm so close.
I'm working through a bought of depression right now, the last week has been rough. After everything that I went through in 365 days, the whirlwind of events, then the last several months getting packed and moving to Klamath Falls, then-POOF- gone and done. Now the reality of you being gone is really hitting me.
I'm glad it was me to take care of you in your final years. I know it wasn't perfect, but you had everything you needed and more. I loved taking care of you. I loved the jokes that Alexa would tell us and you laughing. I loved the look on your face when you got your pedicure and Darlene would rub lotion on your feet. You so loved that. I loved laying in your bed and talking with you about what is and was going on. I know you didn't understand most times but I just kept telling you (it was the one thing that you would let me do to spend time with you)

Give Dad, Grammie and Stuart a huge hug from me, and if you see Tani and mom Karen give them one too.

Mom,

I'm having a hard time formulating what to say because I can't believe you're gone.  

Your smile and outstretched arms said it all though three years ago when I walked into your bedroom and surprised you with a visit home after 9 long years.  We had such a blast!  Lunch at the Red Apple Bar & Grill - I'll never forget that your hand never let go of the stem of the wine glass until it was time for a second glass.  Chatting outside in the backyard until your knees started to get sunburned - wine was the drink of choice once again, or was it a Vodka 7??  And who could forget an afternoon at McMenamins Edgefield with juicy burgers!!  So good, right?

Of course, nothing could compare to what life was like growing up.  You were so much more than a Mom.  You were the epitome of a Wife, Mother, Caregiver, Teacher, Protector, Disciplinarian (when Dad was on the road), Taxi-Driver, Cook & Baker and Friend.  You were selfless and loving.  You sacrificed so much to make sure that every one of us had everything we ever needed, whether it be a brown bag lunch or a dress sewn by hand.  You kissed our scratches and scrapes and nursed us back to health when sick.

My only regret is not talking with you one last time on January 28th.  I'm so very sorry.  I wanted you to live on and couldn't talk through the lump in my throat.  Somehow, I knew that God would be taking you home very, very soon and I was not ready to accept that.

Tomorrow, as difficult as it will be, I'll say my final goodbye.  You are at peace, free of pain and I pray you are singing with Angels.  I can only imagine what Heaven must be like and one day, we'll see each other again.  Give Grammie, Dad & Stuart a gigantic hug for me.

it's been a month and I still haven't grieved. 
I pray that I made your wishes come true in staying with you at our house. 
Thank you for allowing me to make it my home for 8 years. 
I play our "favorites" on Alexa every night, it helps me end my day. 
Einstein cries constantly he misses all that he has lost in the past 7 months.  
So much to deal with for anyone. 
Thank you for telling me that you were glad that I was here with you so many times, some days were harder, but when you would tell me that, I knew we would be OK. Thank you for rubbing my back after I had to put Baby Girl down.
Thank you for all that you taught me,  thank you for the morals you instilled in me. 
You had a kind and loving heart and your door way always open. Thank you for the many dances and songs and laughs, that made things brighter every time. Tell Dad, Stuart, Grammie, Tani, Cathy, Coco, Bud, Baby Girl and Dutchie that I miss them all dearly. 
The only thing that makes my heart happy right now is knowing that you are in heaven waiting for me when I'm finally called home. 
Mom, as I told you often and again on the night you left us, 
"It was an HONOR to take care of you"
