Michael Morgan Marquette, age 76, of Portland, Oregon passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023. Mike was born October 20, 1947 in Portland to Robert and Fern (Woodhouse) Marquette. He was a graduate of Benson High School, studying Graphic Arts while competing with the cross-country team. After high school, he joined the US Navy and served as a fleet hospital corpsman in Vietnam. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, he took studies in the mortuary services program at Mt. Hood Community College, and worked in health provision at local providers and with the Lions Eye Bank. Mr. Marquette was also involved with the Lions Club.
Michael is survived by a brother, Bruce Marquette of Granbury, Texas, and by his longtime friend Arthur Redman of Portland, Oregon.
Mr. Marquette will be privately-interred at Willamette National Cemetery. A memorial dinner will be held in his honor on an invitation basis.
