In 1942 Lee moved to San Diego, California to join in the WWII support effort. She later moved north to Richmond, California where she was employed as a waitress in a café serving members of the Navy. While in Richmond she met and married the love of her life, Victor P. Neufeldt in 1944.
Following the war, Lee and Victor moved to Portland, Oregon where their first son John was born in 1946. In the years following, their 2nd son David was born in 1949 with youngest son Mark to arrive in 1951.
During her working years in Portland, she contributed to the support of her family initially as an employee of the Purdy Brush Company before receiving training in Beauty College. She spent most of her working years enjoying the company of her peers as a hair dresser.
Lee was always diligent in all her endeavors. Never late - always caring.
She loved the sound of waves breaking and the smell of salt air and the feeling of the sands of the ocean beaches she visited often. She filled much of her free time keeping her hands busy with crafting.
She loved knitting, as well as sewing and macramé. The fruits of most of her efforts were often given to loved ones. At home in the Portland area, the Rose Gardens were always a favorite place to visit and the annual Rose Festival Parade a favorite event not to be missed. The color of pink was laced throughout her possessions.
Lee was preceded in death by her husband Victor P. Neufeldt in 2011. She is survived be her brother
