Mary was born and raised in Knob Noster, Missouri. She joined the Cadet Nurse Corps in World War II then moved to Portland in 1945. Working as an LPN, she met her husband, Harry, at Good Samaritan Hospital while caring for his dad. They were married April 18, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1996, and they will now be together again.
Mary faithfully started her day reading the Bible and then filled her day with gardening, baking, and grandchildren. She loved traveling and being with friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Goodrich; son-in-law Bob Goodrich; grandchildren Delaina and David Runestrand, and Bryan Cantin and Jodi Cantin; and great-grandchildren DavidWayne and Victoria Runestrand, and Kassidy and Kylee Cantin.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 from 10:00am-5:00pm at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 1:00pm at Willamette National Cemetery, followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00pm at Happy Valley Evangelical Church.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances should be made to Happy Valley Evangelical Church, 10601 SE 129th Avenue, Happy Valley 97086, where Mary was a member for 65 years.
