Marjorie Marie Hull passed away peacefully to be with Jesus on the evening of April 13, 2021 with friends by her side. She was 86 years old and while she did not make it to her goal of living to 90, she was just as spunky, and her mind was just as sharp as it always was.
Marie, as her friends called her, was born on March 9, 1935 to Loren Grandville Smith and Marjorie Evelyn White in North Dakota. Marie was one of 7 children born to the couple. When Marie was a young child the family moved to Kirkland, Washington, where Marie spent most of her formative years.
In the summer of 1953, when Marie was 18 years old, she met and married a military man, Arthur Franklin (Frank) Hull in San Francisco, California. Frank and Marie were married for 66 years, until his passing in 2019.
Marie broke down many barriers in her life. She worked for over a decade for Multnomah County, where she was a public notary, and she was able to utilize her organizational skills. She also spent 20 years working for Tektronix where, among many accomplishments, she became a NASA certified solderer. She was a woman that worked in high tech before there were many women in high tech. She paved the way for a generation of women to follow.
Marie is preceded in death by her two sons Michael Alan and David Andrew, her husband Arthur Franklin, her parents Loren Grandville and Marjorie Evelyn her brother Timothy Everett and her sister Carolyn.
Marie is survived by her siblings Sam, Virginia, Delores, and Steve, her half-sister Lorraine, as well as many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
A funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 2:00 pm at 2:00PM at Woodland Park Baptist Church, 11375 NE Halsey Street, Portland, OR 97220.
