Born in Seattle on December 30, 1958, Marcia is remembered by her sister, Kathleen Strohecker of Portland; her brother and sister-in-law, Franklin Martin Strohecker, Jr. and Stella Di Loreto of Atlanta; stepmother, Jane Strohecker, of Mt Vernon and nephew, Michiaki Shimazaki of Portland. Marcia was predeceased by her parents, Franklin Martin Strohecker and Joyce Edwards.
Marcia was an artistic, intelligent, generous leader who touched the lives of thousands of people through her work in the Home Decorating industry. Starting 17 years ago as a design consultant for window treatments and flooring with Custom Decorators Inc. in Tigard, Marcia earned her bachelor’s degree in business and then an MBA from Marylhurst University, and was promoted several times. She had been serving as the Director of Channel Sales at the time she passed. Her work was vital to her, and her relationships with coworkers and associates were precious.
Marcia loved to travel, garden, entertain, and work brain puzzles. She collected art, gemstones, and Santa Claus figurines. Marcia had a lifelong love for her feline friends, and leaves Mika and George looking for the human who adopted them from Animal Aid. A memorial service to celebrate Marcia’s life and contributions will take place on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Finley-Sunset Hills Chapel, 6801 SW Sunset Hwy, Portland, OR 97225. Reception will follow with Happy Hour beverages and snacks.
