Marc was born December 6, 1966, in Portland, Oregon to Charles and Bonnie Jepsen. He grew up east of Gresham, Oregon. Marc attended Orient grade schools and graduated from Sam Barlow High School. He participated in both track and field and basketball from third grade through high school. Summers he attended basketball camps as well as participating in all-comers track and field meets.
After high school Marc continued his education at Western Oregon State College in Monmouth, Oregon where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education with a minor in French. Upon graduation Marc was off to warm and sunny California to teach school in Little Rock, California on the Mojave Desert for four years. Marc taught math, science, and social studies in a middle school. He was admired by his students because he was tall, 6ft. 4in., and blond, a distinct contrast to his Hispanic students. Marc later became a co-owner of properties with his partner Michael Boldt. Their business entailed remodeling and restoring older classic homes for rentals in Washington, Oregon, and Ohio. While in Ohio an opportunity to adopt a child became available to them. Baby Ryan Tyler, now 15 years old, was adopted. Three months later baby Michael Dee was also adopted into their family. The children currently live in Longview, Washington with an appointed guardian.
In addition to their children, Marc is survived by his father, Charles; mother, Bonnie; sister, Theresa; and niece and nephew, Addison and Andrew.
