Mallory Lynn Parkin was born on August 24, 1983, in Portland, Ore. to Douglas Parkin and Lori Parkin-Trily. She attended school in many places, ultimately graduating from high school in Hillsboro. Mallory was raised with her sisters, Jennifer, Kendall, Kelsey, and Sydney.
Mallory was adventurous; she loved any exciting, or edgy, activity. She found true joy in participating in activities through nonprofit organization, Adventures Without Limits. With them, she enjoyed rock-climbing, riding ATVs, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and water skis.
Mallory participated in the Shamrock Run with her sister in 2014.
Mallory embarked on her next great adventure on July 23, 2023, with her loving family and caregivers at her side. A celebration of life will be held on August 24, 2023, at a time that will be announced.
Mallory is survived by her parents, Doug Parkin and Lori Parkin-Trily (Tony); sisters, Jennifer Parkin, Kendall Brooks, Kelsey Harkness, and Sydney Parkin; and beloved caregivers, Donna Collins, Charles and Maggie Taneous, and Elisa Coe.
Mallory lived life with zest. She never acknowledged her own disabilities, and enjoyed every single moment with passion and spice. She loved first responders, and would often be found flirting with the handsome ones, creating lasting bonds. She was crafty, and loved to mess with people in fun ways, but always looked out for those who could not advocate for themselves. If she knew someone needed something, she would not stop until she found a way to help them.
Mallory was known for her amazing smile, and her ability to inspire anyone in her presence. Affectionately known as “Mallerina,” she had a contagious laugh that will continue to echo forever in the hearts of those she loved.
