Lowell Bernard Mason

Lowell was born to Howell and Mildred Mason on October 17, 1939. He was eighth out of nine children in their family. He was built wiry and spry and grew up in rural Estacada, Oregon. After a prolonged illness, Lowell passed away on August 14, 2018. He was 78 years old. Lowell is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary. As well as their three children: Daniel Reed, Lowell Thomas, & Annette Marie; three grandchildren: Marilyn, Anthony, & Bernard; and two great-grandchildren: J.J. and Nicky.

Lowell left school in the 9th grade to work in the Estacada Saw Mill with his brothers to support the family. After serving in the military, Lowell's brother Allan funded his education in Welding School. Lowell and Mary met at Gresham Skate World and were married May 22, 1964. Lowell worked for Portland Wire and Iron until the business closed, then with Wagner Mining until he retired. Lowell & Mary spent their retirement years in Gresham, Oregon close to family and friends.

A memorial service and a small gathering for close friends and family for Lowell will be held September 15, 2018 from 2 - 4 PM at Good Samaritan, Fairlawn Village, 3457 NE Division St., Gresham, OR 97030. Snacks and beverages will be served after the service. In lieu of gifts, please send your condolences via letters and cards to Mary Mason, Room 3 in care of Fairlawn Village.
