Louis Ornelas was born in La Junta, California on April 13, 1935. He spent most of his childhood in Wyoming and California. After graduating from high school in Santa Paula, California, he joined the Army at 17, serving in the Korean War from 1952 to 1954.
After serving in the Army, the family settled in Ventura County where they lived for ten years, and later moved to Portland in 1965. Lou, worked 25 years at Sears, Roebuck in the Home Improvement Dept. He retired from Interstate Roofing after 17 years in 2020 at the age of 85! Survivors include his wife, Jennifer; son, Steve and daughter-in-law Dianna; sister, Judith Crain of Maine; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his daughter Nicole, son Michael and his brother, Fred.
Lou will always be known for his “gentle heart,” his kind smile and for never saying, “NO!” He was a “precious gift to us all!”

Louis is in the care of Skyline Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Portland, Oregon.
