Loc Cong Nguyen

Loc Cong Nguyen, age 73, of Portland, Oregon passed away on Monday November 6, 2023. He was born on April 4th, 1951 in Dalat, Vietnam to parents Tri Cong Nguyen and Dau Thi Tran. He married his wife, Aitien Tran in Dalat on September 21st, 1977 and together they had a son, Bao Cong Nguyen and daughter Tran Toan Cong Nguyen. He is survived by his wife, children, and beloved granddaughter, Ava.

Loc was the maintenance manager at Portland Community College for over 30 years, and was known to be the neighborhood "fix-it-guy." Everyone loved and respected him for being there to help from fixing their cars, home, anything. He was always there to lend a helping hand to those who needed it.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He always did his best to provide for his family. and community. He volunteered his time and skills at the Buddhist temple fixing and building things for the Buddhist temple community. He enjoyed tending to his garden and the fish pond of kois that he built.

A funeral service for Loc will be held Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Finley Sunset Hills Mortuary in Portland.
