Jean was born on February 16, 1930 to Lera and H. Paul Foster. She was joined 4 years later by her brother Robert. Jean attended Fernwood Elementary and Grant High School. Jean cherished many of her high school friendships throughout her life.
In 1955, Jean married Paul Nagel. In 1957 Steven was born, and Lori in 1959. They were married for 59 years, when Paul passed away in 2014.
Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved being a grandmother. She loved to take her grandchildren for ice cream, clothes shopping, cheering them on from the sidelines and Sunday family dinners.
Jean took great pride in keeping an elegant home, and was a fabulous hostess. Jean loved fashion and was stylishly put together for any occasion. Jean and Paul enjoyed traveling the world, especially in their retirement. Jean was a member of the Irvington Tennis Club and Multnomah Athletic Club.
Jean was lovingly cared for in her final years by the staff of Autumn Hills. Her family is forever grateful for the nurturing care provided to her up to the end.
Jean is survived by her son Steven Nagel (Kim Johnson), daughter Lori Nagel, son-in-law Phil Erickson and grandchildren Natalie, Eloise and Eddie Erickson.
Memorial service will take place on Saturday, November 30th 2019 at 12:00pm at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. 3228 SW Sunset Blvd.
