Lawrence (Larry) E. Failmezger died peacefully in his home Jan 4, 2020 at the age of 87. Larry was born in Oregon City on Dec 23, 1932 to Edward and Alice Failmezger. He was married Sandra Failmezger in 1962 and had two children, Keith and Diane. Larry went to Oregon State University and worked as a civil engineer for Mercer Steel and Bonneville Power. Prior to retiring, Larry operated a small business for more than 20 years providing commercial and industrial cleaning services and residential yard maintenance. He loved fishing, camping and playing and watching sports of all kinds, especially the Trailblazers. As a college student he worked for the Forest Service surveying roads in Central Oregon which was one of his favorite places to camp and fish. In recent years, he learned how to evangelize on the streets of Portland and Beaverton and helped many hear the Gospel. He became a teacher to many and wrote a book about his experiences.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra and is survived by his children, Keith Failmezger and Diane Gibson (Paul); grandchildren, Stephen, David, and Hannah Gibson and one great-grandchild, Dallen Gibson; brother, Ron Failmezger and sister, Marilyn Roy. He also had an amazing circle of friends.
Larry will be buried at Willamette National Cemetery. There will be a memorial service held on February 1st, 2020 at 1:00pm at Southwest Bible Church, 14605 SW Weir Rd, Beaverton OR 97007
