Kenneth Lee Snyder was a man with a big smile. On November 28, 2014, Kenneth passed away in Portland, Oregon. Kenneth was born on June 6, 1927 in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Fred and Bonnie Snyder. Kenneth was known by Kenny by his friends. He was a former resident of the East Side and attended Arsenal Technical High School before enlisting int the Marine Corps on January 11, 1945 serving his boot camp at Great Lakes, Illinois and served the Marine Corps in Guam as a Color Guard and Military Police.
After four years and an Honorable Discharge, Kenny became a Fire Fighter as a sub and then worked at Station 2, and Station 22 among others, in Indianapolis where he grew up until his retirement after 27 years of service. When he retired as a Fireman, Kenny loved sailing, and would travel to Michigan to Ski and ran in many 5k and 10K races, he loved the public work so much, that he became a dispatcher for the Indianapolis Police Department after retirement.
Kenny, also loved to drive, where he worked for Brinks and he really thought that money was heavy, he also worked as a dental delivering dentures around the Indianapolis area.
Kenneth is survived by two sons, Greg (Fransiska) Snyder of Portland, Oregon and Jeff Snyder of Olympia, Washington and granddaughter Rose McPherson of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
