Kathleen “Kathy” Ann Hein passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025, in Portland, Oregon, at the age of 68. Born on February 2, 1957, in Springfield, Oregon, Kathy lived a life rooted in creativity, generosity, and love.
For 47 beautiful years, Kathy was married to her beloved husband, Karl Hein. Together, they built a life full of joy, resilience, and deep companionship.
Kathy was a gifted crocheter, known for crafting what she lovingly called “grandma hugs”—handmade pieces gifted to friends and family as tokens of comfort and care. She had a green thumb and a heart to match, filling her garden with blooming irises and always growing more food than she needed, just so she could share the abundance with those around her. An avid photographer, Kathy had a special eye for the beauty of trees, capturing their quiet strength and natural grace in countless images.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Kathy’s life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland, Oregon.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her legacy of warmth, creativity, and generosity will continue to bloom in the hearts she touched.
