Today we are reminded you have been gone three years. Our pain is still fresh in our heart. Your leaving was such a shocker. 
I remember when the siblings all get together, you were the one that remembered how the story happened. Now that you are gone, there is no one to ask. Well, we can ask but it’s doubtful we will remember the details. I guess this is why everyone needs to keep a journal. 
We miss your laughter. RIP my sweet sister.

I learned today of Karen's passing. She was great at what she did. She took special interest in getting the best possible image of what you wanted. In the early days at the Thoracic Clinic, before it became the Oregon Clinic, her skills significantly improved patient care. Beyond that, she was a kind, soft spoken person, wonderful to patients and everyone else. She is the sort of person you cannot help missing. My deepest sympathy to Norm and the family.

Karen was a wonderful friend  and coworker.  She worked at the Oregon Clinic Imaging with me.  She had a kind heart and was wonderful with the patients.  When she retired many patients, missed her and would come in, inquiring about where she was.  She loved her family and would share her stories about her travels with Norm, David and Jim.  She adored McKenzie, and seemed to have a special bond with her.   
When she retired we would meet sometimes and have dinner to catch up on each other’s lives.  
I feel Blessed to have had her in my life  and will miss her.

Karen, when I married your brother Mike, l was excited that I was going to have a sister—not one but three of you plus a sister-in-law. Being an only child I had no history how to be a sister, but you took to me like a duck to water and made me feel important like I  was one of your siblings. For years I have heard bits and pieces about the Hagen family growing up. I didn’t want those conversations with family to end. When the other four sibling would forget, you were always there to fill in the blanks of special moments with time, place and who did what to who. Those heart felt times with joy and laughter will ring in my mind for as long as I have a memory. I still have lots of questions. I do know one thing, in all those 30 plus years knowing you, I never heard you say one negative thing about anyone. You were a happy-go-lucky kind of sister, one I will truly miss. I am blessed by having you as my sista by another mother. Until we meet again, I’d just like to say rest, and know you did good in your part in this journey as a wife, a mother and a sister.
