Judy Hay Jackson passed peacefully Friday September 15th 2023 with her family and friends by her side. Judy Hay was born December 6th 1937 in Bakersfield CA to parents F. George Hay and Harriet R. Hay. She attended Bakersfield High School and graduated in the Class of 1956. She attended Bakersfield Junior College for two years and then moved to Oregon, with her horse Babe in tow, and attended the OSHU School of Dentistry. She graduated in 1960 as a Registered Dental Hygienist. In 1966 Judy married Stuart B. Jackson (Stuart predeceased Judy in 2001) and together they raised two sons, Robert B Jackson and Barry G. Jackson. Judy had the privilege to work with Portland Oregon’s leading Dentists throughout her early career. Dr. Herb Goodman was known as a leader of Oral Maxillofacial Reconstruction and with Judy’s help and persistence were able to help many of their patients who had been injured. Upon Dr. Goodman’s retirement Judy went to work for Dr. Allan Y. Clark as a Hygienist and remained for many years until the birth of her second child. In the Mid 80’s as her children grew older, Judy had the urge to return to the Dental field once again as a Hygienist promoting clean teeth in the way only, she could have. She was known for her quick wit, and sense of humor, along with tenderness and compassion…caring deeply about every patient. Judy retired in the 1990’s from the Dental world while working at the office of Dr. Troy Portash of Portland. Judy had a great love for animals and always had at least one, if not more, rescue animals in her possession. She had a love for the outdoors, snow skiing, and especially boating aboard their Chris Craft Roamer “Robbin-B” which she spent many hours painting and varnishing. In addition, Judy spent countless hours volunteering Dental Hygiene at St. Mary’s Home and Creston School, volunteering many hours at local grade schools, tutoring math, and reading during her children and grandchildren’s school years. Judy will be greatly missed by all her friends, neighbors, colleagues, and most of all Family. She is survived by her two sons Robert B. (Kimberly) and Barry G. (Allison), four Grandchildren Nicholas R. and Carly A. (Robert); Riley E. and Piper J. (Barry): Her Cat Percy, and her 1952 MG TD which she cherished.
Sleep well Mom… We love you!
